Derived from the Sanskrit word “yuji,” meaning yoke or union, yoga is an ancient practice that brings together mind and body. Yoga as exercise is a physical activity consisting largely of asanas, often connected by flowing sequences called vinyasas, sometimes accompanied by the breathing exercises of pranayama, and usually ending with a period of relaxation or meditation.

At Health & Sports, our traditional yoga classes are based on hatha yoga and consist largely of the asanas (poses.) They incorporate breathing exercises, meditation and poses designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress.

Our experienced fitness instructors can help you find a yoga class to suit your needs.
